Pang Tong from Xiangyang was a classmate and friend of Zhuge Liang, to whom he was sometimes compared. The two were both strategic geniuses who worked for Shu. It was Pang Tong who suggested chaining Cao Cao's navy together and burning them at the battle of Chi Bi, and he also assisted Liu Bei in unifying his territories. Before joining Liu Bei, Pang Tong was turned away by Sun Quan for his unusual appearance.
